From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"I'm the One" is a song written and performed by American musician DJ Khaled; Canadian singer Justin Bieber; and American rappers Quavo, Chance the Rapper, and Lil Wayne. The song was released on April 28, 2017, by Epic Records as the second single from Khaled's upcoming tenth studio album, Grateful.[2][3][4][5][6]
DJ Khaled initially teased the song in February 2017 by posting photos of the music video on his Instagram account.[7] He announced the song's release date, title, and cover art on April 24.[8]
The song's accompanying music video premiered on April 28, 2017 on Khaled's Vevo account on YouTube.[9] Quavo's fellow Migos members, Offset and Takeoff, make cameo appearances in the video. As of May 16th, 2017, it has received over 132 million views.[10]
"I'm the One" debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, earning DJ Khaled, Chance the Rapper, and Quavo (as a solo act) their first number one single in the US. It is the first hip hop song to do so since "Not Afraid" by Eminem in 2010.[1] It became Bieber's fourth chart-topper, following the first three singles off Purpose. Lil Wayne topped the chart for the first time since 2009 and third time overall.[11] The song also entered the UK Singles Chart at number one, becoming DJ Khaled's, Quavo's, Lil Wayne's, and Chance the Rapper's first, and Bieber's fifth chart-topping song.[12] It also entered at number one in Australia, Scotland, and Canada, and debuted in the top ten in various countries, including Germany, Ireland, and New Zealand (where it reached number one a week after its debut).
